For Adults Who Like To Rock
Band leader Bill Mulroney's singer songwriter career surfaced in the 1970s at coffee houses and garage parties but it wasn't until 20 something years later, and when seeing an open mic poster in a local store, that something clicked. Bill's passion was reignited and almost immediately he began to realize his passion to write and rock.
He soon formed the Second Wind Bandits, a super-charged group of musicians whose core musicians include songwriter Bill Mulroney on guitar and vocals; DC veteran Tom Blood--contributing songwriting, vocals and lead guitar; and Charlie Plunkett on guitar and vocals. Some of the many contributors include Mike Lessin on lead guitar; Gary Garvin on bass, and drummer Jay Dennis. With these musicians, there's no lack of ability to rock and their combined songwriting skills and lush harmonies are proven assets.
The debut CD "Resilient Heart" includes 17 original tracks spanning roots rock, pop and blues genres. This album provides a thread of family man meets rock and roll that gives it a cool cohesiveness. While "Queen Bee" takes you on a rollicking rockabilly journey, the inspiring title cut "Resilient Heart" brings you down to earth. Mulroney's song "The Woman I Love" was selected for the Glam Jam Records Best Indie Song Compilation CD '06 and Bill was named Folk Artist of the Year 2006 by New Artist Radio.
The Washington City Paper writes about Bills' Solo CD "In addition to captivating originals, Bill offered tasty Dylan and Beatles covers -- not something many can pull off..." and Music Monthly, described Vill's first album as "...courageous demonstrating a "love of music, of friends, of spouse, of children, of freedom, of country, of life itself."
Five of the songs on "Resilient Heart" have already been picked for national releases on different record label compilations and the title track was a winner in the 2006 Mid-Atlantic Song Contest.
