Waves of Nine Defined: Melody driven, energetic rock n’ roll with an emphasis on hook and song structure defines the sound of this New York City based quartet. Lead Vocalist/Guitarist/Lyricist Alex Mehran, Guitarist/Lyricist Lars Hedstrom, Bassist Sal Tarallo and Drummer Joe Mehran (Jo-Jo) compromise the Waves of Nine line-up. Citing influences are legendary bands like Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, AC/DC and The Who, etc…, to modern artists like Jet, The Killers, Pearl Jam and Audioslave, etc… The music is truly an original soundscape which uses all the colors of these bands, yet creates its own hue. Featuring soaring vocal melodies, memorable choruses, layered instrumental interplay and appealing lyrical prose, each member’s virtuosity has a chance to shine within the realm of each song. The ability of all four members to contribute to the song writing process, development, production and delivery is something that defines this bands impressionable style. Every song has each member’s stamp on it, making it a true alliance of artistic influence. Their explosive live performances have graced some of New York City’s most prestigious venues, like CBGB’s, Kenny’s Castaways, The Elbow Room, The Lion’s Den, The Lit Lounge, The Downtown, Mc Coy’s and other New York City clubs. Currently, the band has just completed and mastered a 5 song EP produced by Tommy Byrnes from the Billy Joel Band and are working on a new music video.
